Renting Canoes, Kayaks or Rafts

We take pride in our top quality rental craft consisting of Old Town canoes and kayaks and Hyside 6-man rafts. We offer various length trips on the Delaware River, through the beautiful Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Even if you have never canoed, kayaked or rafted before, you will be surprised how quickly you learn. From the moment you first dip your paddle into the water, you will be taken by the serene beauty of the river. It’s almost the way the Native Americans knew it many years ago. In fact, if you’re lucky, you can still see (not take) their arrowheads along the shoreline to remind us of America’s heritage. Adventure Sports will have you exploring and boating through the spectacular Pocono Mountains and Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In some respects, a lifetime away from the fast pace of the city, yet less than a tankful of a gas round trip from either Philadelphia or New York.

Daily Canoe, Kayak or Raft Trips

Spring, Summer or Fall, the Delaware River offers an exciting outdoor adventure for beginners, as well as the more experienced. Our staff would be happy to help you choose between canoes, kayaks, and rafts as well as which trip would best suit your needs. Keep in mind that a fun day on the river can consist of many exciting activities. Important: You have use of the canoe, kayak or raft from the time of your arrival until our closing. Don’t Rush! We encourage you to take your time and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Our canoes and rafts can easily carry your full-size coolers and other equipment, kayaks do better with “soft” coolers and luggage. On hot days, many people enjoy jumping out of their canoe, kayak or raft and floating down the river in their life jacket. You can stop on one of the many unspoiled islands for a picnic lunch and there are many spots along the way to take a swim break. Other activities can include snorkeling, hiking, and fishing (with license) to name a few.

Multi-Day Canoe or Kayak Camping Trips

Alert: The National Park Service changed how the riverside camping works, fees and reservations will be required when the system is operational (April through October). When the system is up and running you should make your campsite reservation prior to booking your boat rentals. Most of our guests will use the Middle Delaware National Scenic & Recreational River Primitive Campsites, not the Alosa, Valley View or Rivers Bend sites, however the choice is yours. For overnight canoe or kayak camping trips, the National Park Service provides primitive riverside campsites. The campsites are not accessible by vehicle and are restricted to only bona fide canoe or kayak campers. We offer many different overnight trips to choose from, that vary in length from 14 miles to over 34 miles. Our staff would be happy to help you plan your trip. Adventure Sports provides FREE shuttle transportation up the river. You float down the river, with the current, to the finish. We suggest getting to your campsite early in the afternoon, so you have plenty of time to set up camp and enjoy other activities such as hiking, swimming, and fishing. The campsites are primitive, as you would expect on a wilderness trip. They consist of a fire ring and a few have “outhouses”. Some sites are suited for one tent while others can handle several. You are responsible for carrying out your own trash and maintaining proper camping etiquette. Glass containers are prohibited and food should be packed in animal-proof coolers or containers. For your safety, National Park River Rangers patrol the area.
